For as long as I can remember, cats have been an important part of my life. I currently have 5 cats and they are my biggest reason for everything I do.
It is very important to me to raise awareness for cats. The statistics around feline preventative healthcare are far behind that of dogs and that won’t change unless we do. There are also so many ways to enrich your cats life and it makes me so happy that catios are talked about more and more!
FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is one of my highest passions and that’s because my sweet Harry is FIV+. When I hear people speak of it like it’s a death sentence, I take it personally because Harry and every other FIV+ cat deserve a chance.
That’s what inspired me to create this blog. I want to change the narrative around FIV and if I make a difference in one cat’s life (and their human, for that matter), that is a win for us all.
My Baby Doug has feline asthma and has had many other ailments too, so we talk about them. Albert has feline herpes flare ups. Harry, Doug and Henry have all had dentals where teeth have been extracted for their health and wellbeing. Regular veterinary care is important for cats and I hope that talking about it makes it a more normal and regular thing for cats everywhere. They deserve it!
